Battle Axe Forging & Hatchet Throwing (Tuesday Evening: 6:30pm-8:00pm)
In my experience, “acceptable sins” have consistently caused chaos, confusion, and conflict in boys’ lives—their hearts, homes, and most intimate relationships. Growing up in a Christian environment, I easily bought into the idea that there were "Varsity" and "JV" level sins. As long as I avoided things like sex, drugs, rated “R” movies, and cursing, I thought my "good" behavior was securing divine favor and righteousness.
However, over time, I understood the truth of the phrase, “Be killing sin or sin will be killing you." What starts as a small foothold can quickly become a stronghold. Casual thoughts and unchecked attitudes eventually lead to reckless words, impulsive actions, and long-term habits.
During this 8-week leadership program, boys ages 9-15 will forge battle axes and throw hatchets as a physical reminder of the spiritual invitation to wage war against the "acceptable sins" that conspire unsupervised in the hearts, minds, and actions of our teenage years—and lay a character foundation for manhood.
